There are hundreds of duct cleaning companies in the Chicago-land area. Many of these companies are run their business using dishonest advertisements and deceptive pricing. So, how do you know which contractor to trust? The easiest way to know that the duct cleaning company you choose is legitimate is to look for an NADCA certification. When a company can prove that they are NADCA certified you will be able to rest assured that their duct cleaning will be done properly and at a fair price.

What is NACDA?

NADCA is an acronym that stands for National Air Duct Cleaners Association. For the past 20 years, this group has provided a way for consumers to choose an air duct cleaning specialist that will comply with industry standards of what a duct cleaning should be. Each company that gains member ship to this globally recognized association must adhere to their strict code of ethics. This code includes:

  • Promising to serve customers with integrity and skill
  • Using “source removal” techniques. This means that the company will clean the duct work thoroughly and remove the particles safely. If a company doesn’t use these techniques, their duct cleaning could do more harm than good. Proper removal of the particles from the duct work is the only way to ensure that they won’t contaminate the indoor air any further.
  • Promising honest and straightforward advertising
  • Proving to the customer that the duct work is contaminated and in need of a duct cleaning before performing any work
  • Performing the services that the customer needs and wants without trying to sell them on unnecessary extras
  • Performing services only when the proper bonding and licensing procedures have been completed
  • Staying up to date on new technologies and tools, as well as building codes and any other codes that may affect this type of work
  • Promising that every technician that is employed is able to perform based on these standards and guidelines
  • Promising to inform the customer when the job is beyond our reach before the work has begun

When a company follows this code of ethics, you can have the peace of mind that comes from knowing your system was thoroughly cleaned and you were not taken advantage of. Companies that fail to abide by these standards are swiftly removed from the NADCA membership list. This is a not for profit organization. Companies cannot purchase a spot on their list.

Four Seasons Home Services is a proud member of the NADCA. We abide by these standards on every job and each and every one of our technicians is held to NADCA standard as well. If you are looking for an honest and up front duct cleaning specialist, look no further than Four Seasons Home Services.
